When I got home on Friday night there were two letters and a key on the hallway table. The first one said that Ian had been kidnapped and that I had to go and rescue him. It told me to go upstairs where I would find two outfits to choose from and I should select one and get changed.
When I went upstairs there were two gorgeous evening dresses from Coast in boxes on the bed. It then said I had to get changed and go and wait in the car park for someone to pick me up at 7pm. It was the longest wait of my life!
Anyway, I did as I was told and was waiting outside when a red Ferrari 360 came around the corner! I gave him the second letter and we had to go to a location in Chelmsford, which was the big yellow self-storage centre. I had the pass codes to get into the building as it was out of hours access and had to follow my instructions to get to a locker. I then had to open it using the key that Ian had left me.
Inside was a bag with 'mission supplies' written on it, all my favourite chocolate bars and a third letter, which gave details of a Golf and Country club retreat in Maldon.
The Ferrari driver took me there where I collected my key from reception and went to the room where Ian was in a tuxedo, on one knee with a diamond ring in his hand.
After lots of tears I managed to say yes!
We had dinner booked in a fancy restaurant that evening and the next morning I also had a new pair of shoes waiting for me on the bed! What more could a girl ask for!

It was in the summer/fall of 2005 at a yearly parade in a neighboring town. My fiancé at that time was part of the fire department in that town.
I went to the parade with my mom as I usually do and his parents were sitting there also with his little sisters. The first things to go through the parade were the cop cars, the ambulance and the fire trucks. With him being on the fire department he was riding in the truck to throw candy to the kids.
When the fire truck got up to us he hopped out and the Class "A" and Class "B" fire fighters did an "about face" toward me and he got down on one kneed in front of his hometown, my mom and his parents and asked me to marry him.
And of course I said YES.
The cheerleaders were in the back of the fire truck shouting, "Way to go, Heather. Way to go!" Everyone applauded and the rest is a happy ending.

One day my boyfriend and I were outside playing with the dogs and I noticed a box sitting in the middle of the yard. I went over there and opened it and there was a puppy with a string around its neck.
A ring was attached to the string. I turned around and my boyfriend was on one knee behind me asking me to marry him.
Of course I said yes and we will be married on August 2, 2008.

We were having a birthday dinner for his father at his family's home with some of his relatives. At some point after dinner he and sister excused themselves to "get some photos" out of the car.
He came back into the house holding a cake box. I didn't think anything of it because I thought that it was a birthday cake for his father. But he placed the cake box in front of me and told me open it.
When I opened the box there was a beautiful engagement ring sitting next a strawberry cake (my favorite). The top of the cake read, "Will you marry me?" and there were two candles; one candle had the word "yes" under it and the other had "no" under it.
Then he handed me a lighter and had me light the candle that represented my answer.
Of course it was YES!

I have driven a limousine as my occupation for the past ten years and figured this would be the most "fitting" proposal given my livelihood.
I awaited my girlfriend's flight home from her business trip in Boston at the airport, only this time I wasn't in plain clothes but in my chauffeur black and whites, and with two co-workers dressed the same.
I positioned my co-workers so she would walk by them one at a time, about 15 feet apart, as they help up the typical sign with our limousine company name at the top and the following words:
Driver1: Will
Driver 2: You
And myself: Marry Me.
She said yes. Thankfully!

On the evening of their seventh anniversary, Nikki arrived home to find Gareth standing outside the apartment in his best clothes. She was surprised because it meant that not only had Gareth remembered their anniversary, but that he had also made plans for it. Nikki's surprise continued as Gareth took a blindfold from behind his back and placed it over her eyes. She was then led through the apartment to the bedroom where she was told to freshen up and dress for a special evening (without peeking in the lounge).
Once dressed Gareth again placed the blindfold on Nikki and led her to the front door, where he removed it and told her to open her eyes. When she did, she couldn't help but look around in amazement! The living room had been transformed!
The floor was covered in hundreds of sweetly scented rose petals. The warm glow of over fifty candles flickered softly around the room. The table was perfectly set with chilled white wine and strawberry champagne, and her favorite love songs filtered softly through the speakers.
Gareth led her to the table where he poured her a glass of wine and brought out the first course, mussels sauteed in a delicate garlic butter sauce. That was followed by tender roast chicken and perfectly roasted sweet potatoes. And lastly he brought out homemade ice-cream with freshly picked strawberries.
As he placed the dessert in front of her he had a confession to make. You see, during the meal Nikki had been astounded at the amount of planning that had gone into their anniversary dinner. When she brought it up Gareth said he had only been planning it for the last three or four days. However, as he placed the dessert in front of her he confessed that he had actually been planning it for the past seven years. He then got down on one knee, opened a small, blue velvet box and said the magic words.
