He proposed on our anniversary, the day before Valentine's Day. He took me out to a beautiful lake within a park. It was very cold outside, but we kept on walking around the lake. I wasn't quite sure why we were there. As we had pulled into the parking lot, he told me, "This isn't the place we're going. We're going someplace else to eat." I thought, OK I guess I'll find out later where we're eating.

We talked and held hands. He seemed a little nervous, but I didn't think much of it. Finally, he turned to me and said, "Mary". I said, "Yes." Then, he said, "Mary," and again I responded affirmatively. As we continued walking he said "Me". It took me a second to realize he did NOT state my name the second time.

I foolishly asked, "Really?" Not quite what I had always imagined responding, but it wasn't quite the way I had imagined the proposal. Obviously, I said yes and he knelt down and put the ring on my finger. We walked a little while longer and then had a nice dinner at a restaurant overlooking the lake.

After dinner, we called our families.

Add the perfect touch to your proposal by selecting from
one of the beautiful diamond engagement rings at Ralphblacklock.com.
Unique in detail, each diamond ring is crafted to fulfill your requirements.

I was taking a bath while he disappeared from the house.

Afterwards, I found an empty wine bottle on my pillow with a note attached. "It is time to embark on your journey...Your journey for the quest of eternal Happiness and Joy...Use the Map to guide you on your quest," it read.

Inside the bottle was what looked like a pirate map. I followed the map to the park by our house, where we spend a lot of time together. I was looking around when I noticed he was up in the tree—I obviously can't read a treasure map because I completely missed the point.

He had to show me black 'X' he spray painted in the sand at the park. He made a treasure chest and put the ring (in it's original box) inside It.

I dug in the sand and, when I found the box, opened it. Then, he turned me around because I was oblivious to something else. He had written "Will you Marry Me" in the sand.

I said yes. It was the most unique marriage proposal I had ever heard of.

Brett, my fiance, is in the Navy and was on leave for only a week. He is usually on missions for weeks at a time—sometimes months—so we always try and make his leave time as memorable as possible.

On this particular leave he'd decided we should spend the weekend in a really nice Bed & Breakfast in Malibu, California, so off we went.

In the morning when I woke up, he wasn't there. There was a trail of rose petals on the floor leading from his side of the bed to the kitchen.

When I entered the kitchen there was a perfect breakfast made, but still no Brett. As he sometimes gets up early to go for a run, I looked out the large bay window overlooking the beach to see if I could see him running.

Instead, he was standing outside beside a large "WILL YOU MARRY ME?" he had drawn into the sand, while holding a single white rose (my favorite). I ran outside, jumped in his arms and screamed yes

The single most memorable leave time ever!

We live in Florida, we love watersports and scubadiving. Actually, when we just met I gave my boyfriend scuba-diving gear and scuba lessons as a birthday present.

Most of the weekends we spend in Islamarada (Florida Keys). During one of these weekends, my boyfriend asked me to go scubadiving. He rented a boat and out we went.

About four miles into the ocean we stopped. This was very unusual place for us to scubadive. This particular area had a lot of sandbars. We dove in and I followed my boyfriend.

What happened next, I can only describe as "Amazing!"

On the ocean's bed I saw what looked liked most beautiful monument, created from coral blocks and columns. In a very center of the creation, stood very tall pedestal, on top of which was a very beautiful copper plate with our names and Eternity sign engraved into. That day was our anniversary.

I couldn't stop crying and screaming at the same time. When we finally got back to the boat, I couldn't stop screaming, "Oh my god, It's crazy, it's crazy!" At that moment, my boyfriend looked into my eyes, knelt on one knee and asked, "You know, what else is crazy? I want to spend the rest of my live with you!"

We kissed for what seemed like an eternity. Then he reached for the towel, unfolded it and there it was! Beautiful ring, perfect fit, love for ETERNITY!

It all started a few days before Halloween.

My boo and I have a tradition that we always have to carve the pumpkins together. We do this because our very first date was carving pumpkins.

The first time I laid eyes on my pumpkin, was at a pumpkin patch where he worked. I needed to talk to him because I felt such strong chemistry. I told him I had bad taste in pumpkins and he picked out the cutest little itsy bitsy pumpkin for me.

We have been carving pumpkins together every Halloween since we started dating, five years ago.

This year in particular, I noticed he had already started carving the top of the pumpkin without me! I was furious. I yelled, "Pumpkin, how could you do this to me!? You know how much this means to me!" I was so upset that I started to walk inside. He called my name, and as I turned around, he was standing there with an itsy bitsy pumpkin with top cut off.

He got down on one knee and handed me the itsy bitsy pumpkin and asked in the softest voice, "Pumpkin, will you marry me?" That was when I saw the ring!

It was the best Halloween ever and I will never ever forget it!

Oh, and by the way, I said yes.

So it's Christmas once again and of course "Santa Claus" is at every mall to hear what all the good little boys and girls want this year of 2002.

My two sisters and I had decided to visit Santa and have pictures taken as gift for my father. All of us being over 20 years old, I thought it would be a cute idea. When we arrived at the mall, my sisters encouraged me to go first to sit on Santa's lap. Santa looked just like every other mall Santa I had ever seen--jolly, fat, red cheeks and all.

I sat on his lap and then asked him if I could kiss him on the cheek, and I did, thinking it would be cute. He asked me what I would like for Christmas.

I told him, "A diamond ring."

He said, "You want a diamond ring, from Santa, for Christmas?"

I said, "No, from my boyfriend, silly!"

Santa asked, "What's your boyfriend's name?"

"Ken," I replied.

Then Santa said, "What if Santa's name was Ken, then would you want a diamond ring, from Santa, for Christmas?"

I said, "Sure! I would do anything for a diamond ring!"

Then all of a sudden, Santa thinking, I better get this over before it gets any worse, gets down on one knee. Just then I realized who Santa actually was. Ken had not only surprised me but the whole town.

The newspapers, the TV cameras, my family, and many mall shoppers looked on as Ken proposed to me. I cried and laughed all at the same time and of course I said yes!

He was amazing! His proposal was beyond my wildest dreams. I'm not going to lie, I knew it was coming someday, but the way he went about it was the biggest and best surprise ever.

I've recently shown an interest in golf. For my birthday last month, he bought me a set of golf clubs. We've been hitting the driving range pretty regularly ever since (I'm not quite ready for the course, but I'm loving the range).

One day we went to the golf club to hit balls.

We started our own little "closest-to-the-pin" competition. We would pick a flag and see who could hit the ball closest to the target. When we were done we headed for the practice putting green. I started putting around, going from hole to hole. He suggested we do another round of closest to the pin. We each had 3 balls and I went first.

My first putt wasn't too bad, just a little short.

He went next and it went way past the hole.

I went again, this time I was really short.

His next shot was way off again. My next putt...a 20 foot putt...downhill with a break to the left and, yep, you guessed it, that's right, I sunk it! Who-ya!

He was shocked; he couldn't believe it (neither could I, for that matter). Of course I was jumping up and down all excited that I made it. Then he pointed out that my ball was still sticking out of the hole...like something was in the hole.

When I went up to grab my ball, there, in the hole, underneath my ball was the ring box. I looked up at him and he had this cat-that-ate-the-canary kind of grin on his face. It was truly the most romantic thing ever. Of course I immediately started to cry.

Turns out he purposely missed his first two putts. His plan was to make his third shot himself, so it would've been his ball sticking out. He never counted on me making it (oh ye of little faith).

But I did and that's what makes this story that much better. I got the hole-in-one trifecta--the absolutely most incredible man, the most amazing ring and, of course, the perfect putt.
